Days Eleven and Twelve (Hours 50 - 60)

Day Eleven - February 9, 2015

This day I arrived at the studio at 4:45 a.m. and started the early show with Speedy, Helmsey, and Greg. After more interns arrived, I worked with Adler on cameras. Mainly, I helped switch the cameras from person to person depending on who's talking. I also helped with graphics by giving the audience a picture of what the guys are talking about on the show. I learned what keys to press in order for the picture to show up through the Heartland Network and what keys worked the graphics on the bottom of the screen. For example, their Facebook and Twitter accounts and their website.

Day Twelve - February 11, 2015

The first time since I've been interning at the Rick and Bubba Show...I was late because apparently I kept hitting snooze on my phone and didn't realize it until ten minutes before I had to leave. Franticly throwing on clothes and fixing my hair, I remembered what one of the past interns to me...never be late. Speeding and putting on make-up is definitely dangerous at 4:30 in the morning. I arrived ten minutes late, but realized that no one really noticed because we were having technical difficulties for the early show. That made it a little better. While the show wasn't on air, I realized how important the early show is to listeners. I had many calls asking about the guys and making sure they were okay, which I thought was awesome. It just proves how important a radio newscast is when you have listeners who work that early in the morning. Once the show was up and running, I worked with Adler more on graphics for the live television show. This is for people who watch the show through Ustream, or the iHeart radio app.
